coming sweat lodges

The sweat lodge ceremony is an ancient ritual of cleansing and rebirth that has been a part of many traditional cultures, the most well known being the North American Indians.
The sweat lodge at Baba Jaga is based on the traditions of the Chippewa-Cree and can be felt like a warm blanket which covers you, keeping you safe and sound.

Feel you wraps in the sweat lodge.
Saint space
Time for healing, speech, benediction, singing, and beautiful mythologies.
where the stones are our father and water our grandmother
when they come together to wrap us in healing steam.
The fragrance of for ever green.

welcome in the circle….

On the day of a sweat lodge, we meet around 10.00 and share the pleasure of a cup of coffee/tea and some sweets. There is a short familiarization round in the ceremonial space in the circle, and then we go outside to help with the building of the fireplace and possibly a stones ceremony (where each person may give their intention for the ceremony to the stones before beginning).
The fire keeper will then light the sacred fire. Once the fire is burning well, the rest of the group will retire back indoors to prepare the dining room for the feast after the sweat. Once all the preparations are complete, we will meet in the ceremonial room, where there will be time for a brief explanation of the sweat lodge and to answer any questions. Here we stay until our ancestors call to meet us in the lodge
The ceremony is in four rounds; in between the rounds the door is opened and it is possible to go outside for some fresh air if you wish. The ceremony is intended to melt, not burn and the warmth will help you relax and soften, to separate from and leave behind whatever is no longer necessary.
You can support and ask for healing for yourself and for others.
Sing from your heart. Become one with all there is.
Declare your gratitude. You will enter the world reborn once more.

After the ceremony you can enjoy a rinse with cold water in the garden or a shower inside.
We will share a feast meal to honor and celebrate the ceremony, and before leaving we will clear the place together by doing the dishes and so.
Then we will split up....until we meet again!
